been having trouble with google chrome so uninstalled it are there any other decent browsers other than google and internet explorer

You have not said which OS you are using if it is XP IE8 is the one which Microsoft insists you use but if you are using Windows 7 then IE9 is the one which Microsoft makes you use as it is the most secure. The choice is yours to make.
