Folder not showing images as icons.

When I scan an image into my PC it goes into a monthly folder. When I open the folder any images that have been scanned are showing inside the folder.

This month however any scanned images go into the folder but the icon with them is for Office Picture Manager rather than a little image of the scan itself.

For some reason when I drag the folder to the desktop it works properly and shows the images but when it's located it it's usual folder it doesn't.

All previous months folders are working correctly, it is just this months for some reason that this is happening. Does anyone know if this can be fixed?

It would help (as ever) if you mentioned what version of windows.

But all you have to do is change the view settings for the folder which is done by an icon on the top right of the folder tool bar.
