What would be a polite, simple greeting, in Dutch, if one were meeting a Dutch person?

The Dutch person speaks English, but something nice along the lines of "hello", or whatever they do in the Netherlands.

And please ... I don't want anyone stitching me up with things that really mean "show me your willy" or anything like that.

sorry..hou je bek,eikel..! ;-)
JJ, I think that, in Dutch, they tend to use the shortened version as in German.
Good day is shortened to "Tag", or "Dag" in Dutch.
Or "Morgen" for good morning.
