Skype IM

Does anybody know of an IM program which will connect to Skype ?

I only use Skype IM, not the video chat stuff, but the only way I can get Skype to run is to let it load and connect when XP starts and to leave it running. If i change my on line status, or stop it loading at boot time then run it, it crashes, having some problem with flash11c.ocx and as I only use it to chat to one person (we've tried Live messenger and Google+ too, but they don't seem to want to work either) I'd like something nice and simple to use instead

So Skype, Live Messenger, and Google+ all fail.
Maybe you should be looking at fixing the underlying problem with your computer, rather than searching for yet another IM program.

I would start by completely uninstalling Adobe Flash, then downloading and installing the latest version.
