we recently had a tv given to us (no manual) why is there a vertical red line down screen?thanks for any info.

Is this line 1 pixel wide or more? It sounds like the chip that drives the display has set that column red value permanently on. Not sure if this can be fixed. Could be the reason you were given it.
Plasma Display Panel ( PDP ) has probably gone faulty and needs replacing
