Email font size.

I have somehow managed to change the settings on my computer and each email I create now has a right big font.

Could someone tell me how I can change this so that all my emails have the usual size (smallish) font please? I use Outlook Express and Windows XP.

Please could I have any instructions in simple language as my knowledge of computing is very basic.

Thanks very much for any replies peeps. x

Open Outlook Express. Along the top of the screen on the left-hand side you will see "File", "Edit", "View", "Tools", etc.
Click on "View" and from the drop-down menu highlight "Text Size".
Another drop-down menu will appear where you can choose from five text sizes. Mine is set to "Medium".

Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for that, BJ. Unfortunately it hasn't changed the size of the text.

Mine was set the "Medium" as well but when I create a new email, the text is definitely bigger than it used to be.
has someone adjusted the size the font *appears* to be on your screen?

click on tools + zoom and check its 100%!
I only have an old version of Outlook Express but in Tools>Options there is a compose tab in which you can set the default font size for new message creation. I would have thought that there would be something similar in Outlook itself.
I use Outlook Express and Windows XP.
When you get onto Outlook Express "Send" go to VIEW and select "Tool Bars", then tick "Formating bar" which gives you a choice of font type and size
Well, that's what I have on mine

Fab! Thanks Cath. It wasn't that, but while there I had a look around and under "Tools" there was a tab "Options" and "Compose" so I clicked on that. You can change the font size there, and even change the style of font. Mine was set to size 14 so I've changed it to 10.

It's been driving me mad for a long time now. Thanks so much.

Oops, sorry Bibble, your answer wasn't there when I started typing. Thanks to X-ray too. All sorted now. <thumbs up>
no problem - glad you got it sorted
I mean't to add that that bar also gives you the option of bold, slanting letters, underlining and even colour.
Glad you've got it sorted now anyway
