What do you mean 'turn them off'?

press stop or pause.

if you want it off the ipod, when you sync with your pc make sure in itunes that you untick 'include music videos'
Put it on the ground and stamp on it...that should turn it off

I meant turn it off so it doesn't use up the battery, I didn't know if when you press and hold the pause button it is properly off, or does it just go to sleep? I know about syncing the music etc
and no not yet tried stamping on it lol
Press and hold play/pause for a few seconds until the screen goes off. It's properly off when you do that.
