Problem with G Mail

When I am sending emails, the name that appears on receipt of that email is incorrect.

How do I correct this?

I have tried to change through account setting, but no joy.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean the email address for you that the other person sees is incorrect?
Please can you give an example using a fictitious emaila ddress

Not a very clear question... but if I've got it correct...

Click the cog in the far top right corner of googlemail, select "mail settings" then click on the "accounts and imports" tab and on the far left of the "Send mail as:" section there is a link to edit the name your mails are sent as.

Yes thats correct.

Let me clarify. I am sending an email from my account [e-mail] to [e-mail], however when I recieve that email in my hotmail account it reads [e-mail].

It was a typo when I set up the account.

To clarify...

If I was to send an email to "[e-mail]" would you receive it?

If you do then you've set the account up incorrectly and all you can do is start another account without the typo.

If you receive mails sent to "[e-mail]" and it's just the name that is displayed when other receive mails from you that is incorrect then you can change it using my instructions above.
