Full Stop instead of Delete

When I press the Delete button on Windows 7 I get a full stop !! Help !! I can Backspace OK

Are you using a laptop whose keyboard doesn't have a separate number pad? If so, you've accidentally switched into "number" mode...

is delete where your full stop should be? xx
