BT superfast broadband exchange upgrade

My local exchange has been named amongst the next 114 to be upgraded to the fibre network but my town is relatively fibre optic free.

Can anyone tell me whether the exchange itself only gets changed or the actual individual connections to the homes also.

It goes up to the box in the road from there it's the old cable into the house.

Thanks. We are happy with our speeds but compared to people in cities they are slow so am looking forward to this.
