BBC's iPlayer and channel 4's 4oD work perfectly on our PC and Mac laptops, whereas ITV Player never runs smoothly on either: continual buffering every few seconds. Anyone else have this problem or know how to resolve it?

If it is buffering then the web site cannot deliever the video quicker than you can watch it.

Options:

Watch at a quieter time

Let some (or all) of it download before you start watching it.

Consider a faster broadband (though if BBC and C4 are ok that may not make much difference)
I agree.

I can happily watch bbc iplayer, 4oD, 5 on demand (or whatever it's called) but can rarely watch anything on ITVs player and I get a unmanaged 8Mb/s connection.

''Watch at a quieter time''
The buffering occurs no matter what time we watch.

''Let some (or all) of it download before you start watching it''
'Pause and let it load' is not an option with ITV Player.

''Consider a faster broadband''
We're on a reliable and consistent 10MB connection.
Try clearing out your temporary files on the computer - I do this and it usually makes ITV player work better.
