murderers getting a new identity

I have read in the Sunday papers that Tracey Andrews is annoyed because they wont give her a new identity ! she has already had £5000 worth of plastic surgery whilst in prison ! what next, she murdered her boy friend why should the country go to this expense for her?what makes her so different from all the others ? I would like £5000 worth of plastic surgery but I cant afford it !if I murdered Mr S would I stand a chance ?

Don't know the story but if she was inside for a decent amount of time (which I assume she isn't) she wouldn't need plastic surgery as no one would recognise her anyway.

We all know how the law favours the criminal in this country, so this should come as no surprise to you. I think that they should bring back the death penalty in this country for all those who have committed murder. This should act as some deterrent instead of the joke sentences they know hand out.

It's entirely because of the mob mentality.......the 'flaming torches and pitchfork brigade' who would see it as their civic duty to hunt down and torment/terrorise Tracey Andrews, or anyone like her who has been released back into society.

at least the boy that she stabbed to death -his family have got a ban on her going within a 50 mile radius them, thats a start in the right direction.I just dont understand why we treat these people with kid gloves its beyond me !

Whether we agree or not, this woman's served her time and therefore should now be able to live the remainder of her days in anonymity if she wishes. If you want to blame anyone for the costs in plastic surgery involved, blame the knuckle dragging braying mob who still believe she deserves to be punished further, despite the law stating otherwise.

I.m not sure I agree with you Boo. The man she murdered is gone forever. His family will suffer for the rest of their lives. Whilst I am totally against the death penalty I think murderers don't do enough hard time.

I'm not asking you to agree micmak, or anyone else come to think about it. I'm just stating facts, in the eyes of the law, she's served her sentence, and that should be that. She can hardly be blamed for having to change her face through surgery because people, who it doesn't usually concern, have decided she should be punished further.

I'm with jack and boo on this.

Our society's laws have designated a prison sentence, which Tracey Andrews has served.

The law is not that she has served her sentence, and now gets to be lynched by a bunch of hyper-righteous lynch-mob vigilantes who think the law is theirs to adjust because they think its wrong.

And yes, I would feel the same if it was a member of my family she murdered - laws are what make society civilised, you cannot simply circumvent them to satisfy some perverse sense of righteousness - thank heavens our society does not work tht way.
