I'm not sure but I used this the other day to see what speeds oths are getting in the area. Not sure how accurate it is though I was wondering if BT were funding it seeing as they wiped the floor with the other providers :)

What does it mean & is it any good ?
Is that a broadband speed or a dialup speed?

First measure is download speed second is upload speed ?
Thats not that good but not that bad either!

Changing provider will have no impact. I'm guessing from those figures that you live a fair distance from your exchange.

No 1/4 mile tops
They all mess you about with speeds what ever provider. Most providers rent bandwidth off BT as most phone lines are BT lines and They only rent so much Bandwidth so as more people sign up theres more people using up that bandwidth making each user get less and less. It's not just about how far you are away from the exchange it's how many people are sucking the power out the line at the same time and how the provider is not buying extra bandwidth quick enough to keep up with the amount of extra users.
i'm with orange 1/4 mile away from exchange and i'm getting 20mb download 97mb upload.using in the test prog "speedtest"
£10 per momth
