This camera appears to have died. It was working yesterday but this morning turned it on , the lens extended but then nothing.
It was fairly expensive a few years back but it's only 3.1 mega pixels. Should I just scrap it? There are much more powerful and cheaper models on the market now.

Have you tried it with a new battery or with a plug in power supply ?
It sounds like a power issue to me.
Yeah, go on treat yourself to a new one. You deserve it, I'm sure.

It could be the batteries. They're at least 3 or 4 years old. I'll try it with new ones on Monday.
A 3.1 mega pixel camera is capable of a 10" x 8" picture at approx 200 pixels per inch.
The majority of people never print a picture larger than this, so if this includes yourself then I'd be inclined to keep it if it still works with new batteries and you are still happy using it, otherwise you would probably just be buying a better quality image that you may never use.
Just a thought!
