INTERNET CONNECTION PROBLEMS -help !

just tried to help my daughter with some internet issues with no joy, she can access Ebay/yahoo/tescos + many others, CANT access EGG/NATWEST/FACEBOOK, will load the home page but go no further, shes on VIRGIN media, any sensible suggestions ?
I did assume it was some security issue but she can get into the above secure sites with no probs
