I have tried to download JAVA to my computer but to no avail. What can be preventing the download?

Where did you download it from?
What operating system are you using?

Hi squarebear, thanks for yr reply. was busy since the 20th and only getting back to this now.
No, it does not come up with a message - clearly states that download is complete.
download it from the net - it was a free java download.
windows vista basic operating system.
