php into a static web page using dreamweaver

is it possible using dreamweaver to incorporate php into it? so certain parts of the page keep getting updated? Similar to the recent posts on this page?

All I can say it is possible as I have seen it done but I can't stand DreamWeaver and use a notepad replacement instead.
