help! I can't speak german!

i am desperately trying to buy a particular bottle of wine. I've finally found it after a lot of searching but unfortunately it is in Germany. I don't even understand the address form!
Is there something on tinternet that will translate it for me?

I wouldn't trust babelfish too much. How about posting the German here? I'm sure one of us speaks German.

Be aware that buying wine online is a very tricky business - it will be subject to customs tax, even though Germany is the EU.

oh my god ethel!
I'm not sure but I think i've got 6 bottles on their way to me!
What will the customs be?
I haven't paid or anything, but went through the checkout, thinking it would give me a final total.
The cost of the wine is less than 13 euros for 6 bottles.
Still, it's worth that bit extra for quality!

How much have you paid for p&p?

you pay duty on owt over £18 .... and then there's VAT ....
except it's eu ... so it should be the same as going over there and bringing it back as part of your allowance.

6 bottle will weigh a ton so p&p will probably be the biggest expense.

it must be good stuff to go to all that trouble
I'd want a bladder extension - 'cause there is no way I'd go for a leak until I'd sweated it all off
hopefully the tannins won't be too bruised after all that trauma

Ac - the Customs & Excise people stopped the loophole.

If you want duty free, you can't do it by post.

just shows the last time I had a drink!
It's actually very simple to calculate

Wines including: made wine, sparkling wine, Port and Sherry and Cider not
exceeding 8.5%. These are calculated as follows:
To find the Excise duty on a case of still wine (exceeding 5.5% but not exceeding
15%) containing 12 bottles of 75cl @ 7% Alcohol:
• Convert to bulk hectolitres (hl): 12 x 0.75\100 = 0.09 hl.
• The duty rate for the produce is then applied to bulk volume
calculated.
• Obtain the duty rate from Part 12 Volume 1 of the Tariff.
• Multiply the bulk hectolitres by the current rate of duty), i.e.
£158.69 per hl (April 2003).
• Therefore the duty on a case is: 12 x 0.75\100 x £158.69 =
£14.28.

oh my aching head

well $14.28 would be ok!
I must have read it all wrong. It's only stating 3 euros for postage!
I don't think they'll send until I've paid. I think it was a confrmation email I received!

Plus the collection fee from the delivery people - usually around £8, maybe £12, on top of the duty
