Problems with PayPal

I recently bought an item off the net, and paid using my debit card. To cut a long story short, the goods arrived but were wholly unfit for purpose, and I therefore returned them to the supplier.

The company then sent a refund via PayPal to the e-mail address which I had given them, however this address was not linked to my PayPal account, but was simply one I use for general communication.

I requested the company to re-send the refund to my PayPal e-mail address, but they refused. I have tried e-mailing PayPal since, but I'm getting the usual replies which are of little help.

I have since been into my PayPal account, and have added the e-mail address to which the payment was apparently sent, but this proved unsuccessful and no trace of the payment was found.

Can anyone tell me how I may obtain the refund which has been made to the wrong e-mail address.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes.

Make sure you are not logged in to PayPal at all.

Now open PayPal and open a new account, using the email address that has received the payment.

You should have had a link in your PayPal 'payment received' email.
