Does your anti-virus software not have a pop-up blocker?
Unless youre talking about ab ?

" Wouldnt it be nice ?"
I believe these are collectively known as "Windows".

What security programs have you got on your computer?

As a MINIMUM you should have:

1) Anti Virus - AVG is FREE

2) Firewall - ZoneAlarm is FREE

A spyware program lke Adaware would also be useful. It is FREE

I also run a great little program called WinPatrol that warns you if anyone tries to do anything "nasty" on your computer (like install a program without your knowledge). It is also FREE.

Many thanks, all. My problem is that I never know what A-V and firewall programs I have installed. I'm lamentably careless about it and must do something.
I'm pretty sure, though, that this computer had both installed when I bought it. Must look into it. Anyway, if so then they are certainly not working when it comes to these irritating pop-ups.
When you buy computers, you normally only get a 6-12 month licence on a security suite, (usually Norton or McDuffy). They could be expired thus allowing anything onto your pc.
What are the popups advertising?
