I'd like to record the sound (only) off a video on Youtube, ideally to then put on a self-made CD (for my own enjoyment) - can that be done and, if so, how?

thank u spaced, but does that apply if I only want the sound/audio?
yes, copy and paste the youtube page address into the box under URL. it has a drop down list where you can select what file type you want, one of which is "MP3 (Audio Only)"
Spaced I'm in your debt. just D/loaded Lilian Harvey singing 'Das gibst nur einmal'-something I've dreamed of-thanks again.
my pleasure...enjoy!

spaced please help again. I downloaded it on vixy, then it said do you want to open or save it, I clicked save and it asked where to, I clicked on desktop because that was highlighted in blue. But now I can't find it, and I want to put in on my Media Player - on which I make my own CD compilations. What do you suggest?
you have done everything corectly.

Try and downalod the file again, when it asks you to save to dektop, give it a name, as apposed to the file name created by the site. Save it. If you cant find it you could always perfomr a search.

Let me know how you get on.

thanks, but how do I then put it on Media Player as a track?

Question Author
I think I may have found the track on my Desktop, under an MP3 title. But I don't think I have an MP3 player. When I click on it, I have options of Run or Cancel. Clicking on Run leads me to having to download something called Thompson which I can't work out at all. Where are you spaced?
Windows Media Player DOES play MP3's. Go into the options of Media Player and select that it recognises MP3, alternatively right click the file and selct open with and then select Windows Media Player.

You then need NEro software to burn MP3 to disc and make it an audio cd.

Unfortunately your original post was not very clear on what you ACTUALLY wanted. My advice was to guide you. Next time state what you ACTUALLY need (eg no MP3).
