Hi there, we use broadband and have a Belkin wireless router. It has suddenly stopped working as my son has installed windows vista onto his laptop. Could this be the reason why he can no longer connect to the internet now.

Are you sure your router is faulty?

I suspect that a compatibility issue with Vista is the more likely cause - there have been many such problems.

Have a look at the belkin site and see if there is a firmware upgrade for your router. I have updated mine several times - it is easy. Just download from the site, and then upload into the router admin page.

Thanks for your help, I will have a look on the belkin site. Will it cause a problem for us though as we have on our PC windows XP.
It shouldn't do, as most are 'backward compatible'.
Are you connecting with ethernet cables? The operating system you're using shouldn't touch the router at all -- it's nothing to do with it.

Try going into the router's settings pages (192.168.2.1 stuff), and if it's saying 'disconnected', there should be a button next to it saying 'connect'.
