Can I access my emails while on holiday?

I should know this, but I'm not sure if I can take my laptop to a holiday cottage and access my emails from their phone line?

If it is web-based email such as Hotmail, then simply log in as you would at home.
However, if it is pop3 hosted by your ISP then you need to use a site such as this:-
