...the spellcheck facility on AB though it is still there on Open Office. Any ideas on how I can get it back?

I've been into my browser settings (Chrome). It says spellcheck disabled but there doesn't appear to be a way of enabling it.
Have you looked in advanced settings? There's a slide bar to enable spell check.
Question Author
Nope, nothing there. I shall just have to type more slowly. It's not that I can't spell but I do make a lot of typos.
Jackdaw, why is your Chrome different from mine?
Question Author
Don't know. I must have accidentally interfered with settings. Odd thing, I just put an extra e in 'interfered' and it was underlined in red yet when I type gibberish it is ignored. I will survive!
Can you spell 'Thank you for trying to help, Tilly'?

Obviously not.

'gibberish' was spelt correctly ... sorry, i'll get my coat
Question Author
I do apologise. I am most grateful for your assistance, Tilly. It is my incompetence rather than your valiant efforts to help which are to blame.
Jackdaw go into w10 settings. "Little cog wheel after windows key or clicking windows pane icon bottom left of screen".

Then click Devices.
Then click Typing

Then slide toggle on "Autocorrect misspelt words".
Question Author
Thanks. I have done that and both were on! Bizarre.
My instructions were for Windows 7. That's why they were different.
Question Author
I see. I have no experience of W 7, I went straight from Vista to W 8 (hell on wheels) and then to W 10.
Lol Jackdaw you must have been typing a word that spellcheck doesn't know. I have had that happen btw. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

It actually knows that.^^
Question Author
Very odd. I was deliberately misspelling words with no underlining yet when I go into Open Office it works perfectly. I blame those pesky gnomes at AB Towers!
