i'm thinking of selling a car privately for the first time, can any of you advise on the best wording of a reciept to cover my self legally.the car is in need of work and i will be honest about all faults that i know.

thanks for the answer zoe76 i've now found a printable form on what car website

Make sure you Highlight "SOLD AS SEEN" Paul, also If paying buy Cheque, the car stops where it is until the Cheque clears (3 Day days) don't forget to sign the V5 change of owner, if the car is Taxed it's up to you to send it back & reclaim the refund, ( If it's taxed)

thanks all, as said previously have found a printable 'used car sales reciept' on whatcar.com website, it seems to cover everything i thought of but easier to fill in than actually writing one out and looks rather professional.
