If you are click on the 3 horizontal bars at top right of screen. from drop down menu click on settings. At 'Search' select Google where it says set which search engine to use.

did have classic google, but since this fiasco with java seemed to have lost it and ended up with ask jeeves.

if I click on IE (64bit) it goes to ASK
so I click on 'plain' IE and it goes to Google
if that makes sense.
