Anyone here having problems with AVG 2013?
I recently updated to AVG 2013. Each day I have a scheduled scan, in order to identify any issues. Upon completion the Report says there are 5 threats with the word infected alongside. I can then view the threats. My problem is when I highlight the threats to remove them both the Remove Selected and Remove All buttons are grayed out. Therefore the threats remain on my computer. The next daily scan again identifies them. I also used AVG PCTune up and the end result was 'Your System is Clean'. Fantastic!

Today I ran AVG PC Analyser and horror: Registry (97 errors found), Junk Files (3065 errors listed which includes all my Windows Update Files). Surely they are safe!

Is it time to change to another Anti-Virus; any ideas folks? Thank you.

Can you not set AVG up to remove without reporting?
Question Author
Maybe Howard. Up to now I have not found that facility.

The thing that I do not understand is that yesterday my system was 'clean'. Today it is a 'mess'.
If you want to change most people on here advocate Microsoft Security Essentials which is free.
"junk Files (3065 errors listed which includes all my Windows Update Files). Surely they are safe! "
Yes, they are safe, but serve no purpose and (as the screen points out) they take up disk space.
But frankly, running this sort of scan is pretty pointless in itself.
Get rid of of AVG, replace it with MSE.

Thank you rojash. MSE seems to be the answer.

Hopefully AVG will uninstall easily.

Thanks again.
What are the alternatives to avg
AVG has been rubbish for years. Get rid of it.

Install Microsoft Security Essentials.
Don't count on AVG uninstalling cleanly. It was like pulling teeth when I got rid of it.
Ordbrae, If you want an alternative to AVG then I have used AVAST for the last 14 years with no complaints whatsoever. AVAST is also FREE, is updated almost daily and so covers the latest viruses, etc.
Go to the AVG website and download and run their uninstaller which will remove all of it. Avast is the best free antivirus to use and is used by 26% of all users on the internet.
