Google Chrome message

When I open Google Chrome this label appears :

'Your profile could not be opened correctly. Some features are not available. Please check profile exists and you have permission to read and write its contents.' What does this mean ?

Also, when I do open Chrome I do not have the usual File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help menus that appear on Firefox, and I do need them.

Can someone help, please ? I am running Windows XP.

PS:
Chrome doesn't have a menu bar. The functions you're seeking are available via the 'Page' and 'Wrench' icons, at the top right of your screen.
