Hotmail audio

Hi does anyone know if it is possible to set hotmail to make a sound when new email arrives?

Oh there is, but I can't remember how! I used to have it set, I thin it might be connected to messenger. I'll have a look. :)

there also appear to be downloads that will give an alert, but I'd be wary of them.

I think as long as you are logged into messenger on that account it will make a noise by default, I always get an audible alert and I have never asked or set it up to do so.

I think you're right Ratter - I've not used messenger for a good while so I can't remember, but that sounds right.

Yep....

It's a messenger thing. as long as you are running live messenger and are logged in using the same hotmail account it will "ping" at you when you get mail and flash a task bar notification.

Yes messenger does it and a little pop up in corner shows you who from too, sorry not a clue how to set it up.

Guys thank you so much for the answers but now you have made me wonder what's the difference between hotmail and MS messenger . . . . . . . ?

Messenger is for live chat, but you can access your hotmail via messenger.
