Kodak ESP 3250 Printer Problem

I have the above printer which is quite new, and although it prints and copies OK, I can't get it to scan, when I go to the Home Centre page and follow the instruction it just freezes whether I press the Preview or Next button,and can only be removed from the screen by use of the Task Manager. I have tried uninstalling and re installing without success. has anybody had the same experience?

it could be a faulty usb port, if possible try another port.
Does your pc meet the minimum spec required.?

I think the computer will be OK as it's brand new as well (HP), it has 6 USB ports and I've tried all the 4 at the rear with no difference.
