Do children still have medicals at school and if so, are parents present ?

The only medical we had at school was for eyesight and the nit nurse. I didn't feel the need for a parent to be with me.

Reminds me of The Nit Nurse. Kids with ringworm had their heads shaven and coated with some blue stuff.
That's going back a bit, though.

We used to have hearing tests as well.

Oh yes so did we, I forgot. We had to tap when we could hear the high pitched noises through headphones.

Now kids wear headphones to MAKE them deaf,not to see IF they are! LOL

school nurse sent note that 5y g'son has 'undescended testicle' ! DIL wasn't aware of school examination. I'm unhappy about intimate examinations without parental presence. G'son doesn't want to return to school !

I told DIL to tell nurse to 'keep out of g'sons pants' but she thinks I'm over reacting.

Tamb..you can never be too cautious where children are concerned...a lot of abuse originates from a seemingly "proper" source..

am not in a position to interfere but hope this prevents other kids suffering same trauma about school. Am so relieved you agree its wrong murraymints.

Tamb....especially if it results in some kind of stress..fear and reluctance on the child's part to go to scholl or even gp in future...children have long memories when people "hurt" them..
