if a laptop has a built in webcam can photos and videos be taken using it, so they can be emailed to friends and family?

(i know i can take them with my plug in webcam, using its software)

ok ...

well, all i know is their laptop is a compaq and is probably on windows 7,

so, any ideas what theyll need to do to be able to take the pics and vids please...?

If it is windows 7 the click start > computer and then click on the webcam icon.
