Still getting to grips with Windows 7... have looked in my 'easy steps' book for info on deleting browsing history, and it seems as if the process will delete all passwords etc for the sites I've been using. The old 'clear history' button in XP didn't do this. Is there a simpler way, please?

Nothing to do with Windows 7. This is governed by your browser. I'm guessing that you are using IE8, in which case:

Tools/Internet Options

In the Browsing History section, click the Delete button (don't worry, it doesn't delete anything at this point)

Uncheck the Passwords box (and the boxes for any other things that you don't wanted deleted)
Click the Delete button

Thank you, Rojash. As you guessed, I didn't click the delete button because I thought it would remove everything instantly. All clear now.
