arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I have 2 new sofas being delivered on Monday. I have 2 old sofas that I need to get rid of, and quickly.

a local charity said they'd take them, but now they say they have too much furniture and can't take them. I've tried another charity, but they won't take them because the paper fire tags have come off. I've tried registering on Freecycle but haven't received the password they say they're sending.

I don't have room for 4 sofas in my living room! any ideas?

I guess so, woofgang.. I just thought someone else could get use of them. they're in okay condition. seems a shame if they'll end up at the dump!
gumtree's the place for household goodies.....Free !

thanks Tambo, I've stuck them on Ebay now as a 1 day listing :o/

failing that, I'll probably take woofgang's advice and get the council to take them. it's such short notice, I'm a bit stuffed really!
Lucky you Woofgang. Someone should tell councils that here in Norfolk. I seriously wonder about our waste disposal systems here. We shall soon be doing it all ourselves. I shouldn't wonder if we won't be asked to provide our own lorries and drivers soon!!

Our council will take 3 large items for free...anything more they charge £10.
God that's cheap ummmm..........our council charges £28 for up to 11 items....
I'm not sure how many items you get for £10. Probably another 3...so it might work out about the same as you.

ummmm, our council does that if you're on benefits (I'm not). I may ask the old dear next door to say they're hers!

patsy, I think ours charges about £25 for up to 6 items.
