Problem with Office 2003 SP3?

Good old Windows update is insisting that I install SP3 for my Office 2003

Snag is, every time I do so, Excel stops working. After the service pack, when I start Excel, the WIndows installer starts instead and I am prompted for a .cab file from my original Office 2003 install disk!!

I can roll back the service pack with system restore and all is OK - until next time

For now, I have (permanently I hope) declined SP3 but I really would like to get to the bottom of this

Thanks for any and all suggestions

Insert the disk it's asking for?

Well, if I HAD the disk in question, of course I would

but my laptop came with Office 2003 preinstalled and I don't have the install CD
