I have just bought a Dell netbook and want to purchase a USB DVD drive.
Will any be compatible ?

Perhaps try and make sure the DVD drive is powered though. Some of them (the Apple one for instance), I believe isn't powered, and relies on a special USB port that supplies extra power.
