Laptop Audio question

I am interested in recording and mixing audio on a laptop set-up with an external soundcard, and being able to master, and burn the final mix to CD.

I need to make the decision on whether to buy a general laptop that runs Cubase, or an Apple Powerbook that runs the latest Logic versions. Which is the better route for me?

Personal preference but I would use Cubase.

For music making i much prefer a desktop. I had two laptops that i ran into the ground trying to run the latest music software on but my new desktop can handle the most CPU intensive software and VST plugins with barely a twitch on the CPU levels. If it is at all possible, and if you're serious about your music, get a desktop.
