Does anyone ever stop and think on here

How some people might actually feel quite down in themselves and their lives and are trying to change and do something about it and find out about new things they could try such as sugarcraft for example. I posted a question and then checked back and there was about 7 answers and only about 2/3 of them were answers that actually answered the question and the rest were abusive and not relevant to what was being asked at all.

Was just wondering why people on here are so mean and rude unnecessarily. Don't you realise that some people like myself might already be feeling low and they don't need stupid comments.

This is or should be a really useful website and its such a shame some people have to ruin it for others.

Note to Editor: I seriously think you need better measures put in place - maybe more moderators for example to check through posts and replies and take necessary action as the abusive replies clearly aren't being observed or removed.
try posting in relevant sections and perhaps you can avoid the fun and games we have when posting on chatterbank.

I agree with you angel, there is a clique on here that takes great pleasure in hi-jacking every post for their own ends.

I thought chatterbank was a place where you could post anything. If this is not the case - this needs to made more clear. Where exactly is the craft secion?
That's the Internet for you! It doesn't matter what you do or what you say on the Internet; there will always be some idiot that's gonna do something stupid or give an idiotic response. That's freedom of speech. It's part and parcel of being part of an "Internet community" and people just have to put up with these comments or ignore them. So my advice is just to ignore them because if you respond to them, then you are just encouraging even more silly responses.

Yes to a certain degree I think Johnny you are right it is part of an interet community. But I do think mroe moderators should be around. I also think if this is what you call an internet 'community' I am off as it isn't a very nice one
Hi angel,

Under Society and Culture there is a hobbies section.

:-)
Byeee! :-)

Ok thank you eash. I take this on board but I still think chatterbank appears to be a place where you can post on any topic. Maybe I'm wrong. It's certainly a place where a lot of nasty comments are made.

Hey Angel... I never saw your first post.. but I did evening classes in sugarcraft and loved it!
I then made a 50th cake for my Mum as a surprise and she loved it!

angel21 - I'm not condoning rudeness but if you have a serious question then post it in the relevant section. Your sugarcraft Q should have gone into either Food & Drink or Hobbies.
In theory having moderators is a good idea but it's impractical. How many staff do you think it would take to moderate every single thread. Zillions! It would be cost a shedload for them to employ people to sift through every thread and make sure it's not ruined by idiots.

And to answer your second concern, if you withdraw yourself from this "Internet Community" then you're letting them win. Don't let them win! Just ignore it, like you would with things in the real world.
you are right, angel, (and I gave a sensible answer!) but we are a bunch of leg-pullers on CB. most of us don't mean any harm, but there's always going to be one or two...
Hi angel - I too would have posted this in Food & Drink, but now you know & it's no big deal.

This link may help you:

Sugar Craft
Oh where is your sense of humour angel? Most of us are not nasty & rude on here - we just like to have a gentle mickey-take. If you really didn't want to lay yourself open to a bit of lighthearted ridicule, you should not have posted in chatterbank.
Hobbies, food & drink - I'm sure they would have been ultra polite & sensible on there. Lighten up sugar ;-)
i get it....sugar....
