If I change to wireless broadband, do I need a landline connection? Also is it safe from hackers?

1. Via wireless router conntected to your modem (or a combined router/modem) that needs your home broadband.
2. Via mobile broadband dongle that doesn't need a home based broadband connection.
Both are not as secure as a wired connection but you can take sensible precautions to make it less vulnerable.
