Cannot send

My friend is using a Dell Inspiron 6400 running Vista Home Basic.
He has an email stuck in the outbox which will not send. It also prevents any other mail being sent. We have tried to delete it with no success. It is not a massive email (996kb).
Everything else works and he can receive mail OK.

i have windows vista home basic too i had the same problem i couldn't delete the email tried everything then i went on to microsft website typed in my problem and then i downloaded from there which gets rid of it.. it will explain in detail what to do...
