Hi Guys Girls how can I stop things auto starting in my bottom bar right hand corner in XP. Task bar. I know preference can be set but is there a way to stop certain programs etc.

click start and then run and type in "msconfig" and hit enter, then click on the startup tab and yoou can take a tick out of the stuff you don't want running at startup

Only do one or two at a time though so if it causes a problem you know what to put the tick back in
