The conection between the battery and the laptop is often very poor and difficult to maintain for more than a few minutes. Can the port on the lap top be replaced ?
Are there adaptors available?
Thanks in advance

Clean the contacts the best you can, use anything to the scrape any oxidisation from the contacts, carefully!!

if they are slightly sprung loaded at all you can try gently prising the contacts out a little, but careful again, too far and they pop out and it gets bad!

yeah you can replace the port on the lappy, if you can find a replacement part to buy and are handy with a soldering iron (and are capable of taking a lappy fully to bits!) and to pay someone to do it is gonna be pricey!!

on the battery, not the lappy!

Thanks ChuckFickens, my son tells me there's a docking station you can get to go between the two connectors...any views?
The docking station would normally connect the a port on the bottom or the back of the laptop and doesn't involve the battery at all. Also if it is in a docking station it would be running on mains power so the bad battery connections would not effect anything, same as just plugging the power lead in.
