adding new desktop to network

i`m waiting for a new desktop to be delivered,to replace our aging one.my question is,i have a home network set up with the existing pc and three laptops.will i be able to simply add the new desktop to our existing network,or will i have to set up a completely new network.many thanks in advance.

Just add it. Make sure the Workgroup name is the same as that of your other machines.
... and that the Computer name is unique!
I found it much more difficult than it should have been because I was linking a new PC with Vista to a Workgroup with XP. You would think it would be the same but the default names were different and sharing a printer and file permissions took a bit of fiddling around because of user account control in Vista.
