spam from my hotmail

some blighter's got into my hotmail account and sent out a spam mail to everyone in there (I deliberately don't keep a contact list so the spam's gone to anyone who's sent me an email that I've kept). Is this likely to be a one-off or do I need to do anything to stop it happening again?

I think your safest option is to abandon the account, delete it if you can, and start again with a more secure password. It is inconvenient in that you will have to let your contacts know your new email address.

I'd like to try resetting my password on my present account, but how?? It says to go to Password Reset Information - but there's no such thing visible on the home page or the inbox page

From Hotmail select options then 'view & edit personal information' under 'manage your account' it will ask for your password again then amongst your info you will see 'password ******* change' (in blue). & there you go
