Try going to Logitechs website and seeing if the drivers you need to install are there, unplug the cam, download the drivers, then plug in the cam and it should try and pick it all up and then install for you.

thanks, ive tried that but still the same, im wondering if it has anything to do witht eh plug and play thing.
I would guess that you are going to need to install the chipset drivers for the motherboard thats in your computer.

Is it a branded computer (dell HP etc) if so you should be able to get the drivers from their website, if it not branded then you will need to find out what motherboard is in it and get the correct drivers from the manufactures site.
