oe6

My Outlook Express v6 is causing problems and I would like to reinstall it. Do I have to uninstall it first?, and will I lose my files and addresses?

You should be able to do an 'on top' installation without any problems.

You shouldn't lose any files but, to be safe, first run a search for *.dbx and make back-up copies of all files with the dbx extension. (If your fresh installation 'loses' files, you could, for example, replace your new [empty] address book with your old [populated] one).

Hi Buenchico
Thanks for the good advice.
I'm about to start backing up all my .dbx files.
Best regards
Curtis.
