I've been with Vodafone for many years and used to enjoy free Internet access, but in recent months they've charged for that - a fortune as well. Is there any way of accessing the Internet on my mobile without being charged, or any other service provider which doesn't charge?

Not that I'm aware of.
not likely however if you do find one, post it for all to use!!!
O2 (and probably others) have unlimited data plans.

Only with the more expensive contracts, though.
3 have a data plan which allows unlimited net usage on your phone with a 5 per month add on which is available on most of their contracts.
