Hi,


Just installing windows update I got the following Norton message:


wgatray.exe is attempting to connect to a DNS server. Any idea what the function is of this program?

It's part of Windows Genuine Advantage, the thing that checks you are not using a pirated copy of Windows every time you use the update service.

Many thanks for that Kempie, been online for over nine years now and I have never been so nervous of down-loads than I am now!

If you un-install norton and re-install it, but it crashes whilst doing it. Norton considers ' itself ' a dangerous program and wont let itself start up, leaving you unprotected without knowing it!!!!


Enough said, dump norton and get AVG or Avast, there both free and much more reliable.
