My 5, going on 6 year old grandson, is in his Christmas play at school tomorrow. The school doesn't do the  traditional stuff, but always make it fun. He told me he is the Narrator. "Oh", says I, that's good" Then asked him, was he going to dress up as a shepherd. He says, "No Nanny, I'm dressing up as Narrator!" 😆 Can anyone tell me what a Narrator should look like??

The narrator looks just like your grandson 😁

Would you start with a striped towel over your head?

We've just been sent a video of our just turned four year old grandson singing Little Donkey, word perfect and with actions 😊

A relevant (and rather entertaining) thread from Mumsnet:

I will always remember my daughter when she was in the school nativity play she played "third year Mary" !!!

Memories eh ??

It's a lovely age. They can be so matter of fact & funny. His Mum told me, he's wearing a Christmas jumper and his smart school grey trousers. There is a couple of other narrators too, they too, will be wearing Christmas jumpers. 😁

I well remember having to read a passage from the bible to morning assembly at primary school.

A round of applause for the wee man and his duties.

My 3-year-old granddaughter, who never shuts up or sits still and is the loudest child I've ever known has been cast as an Angel would you believe?

The only time she looks like an angel is when she's asleep.

Oh yes, Winner. I remember this little girl!  She was in her own little word and loved every minute of it! There's one doing the rounds now of a little German boy dancing & singing with his fellow class mates. See if I can find it..

Who can forget this little Aretha Franklin? Still makes me laugh.

Who remembers Tennessee Ernie Ford? Old clip but very funny.

When my son was young, he told me that he had been chosen for a part in a school play. Asked him what his character was. he said that he was playing the part of a man who had been married for 20 years.

I said "Never mind son, next year you might get a speaking part"

The old ones are the best.😀
