I have another car ... and the battery appears to be failing

can i just put the battery from my old car in the new one?

they are a VW passat auto estate

and a renault laguna auto estate.

do i just try it and see? do i need to check it somewhere, some how?
thanks

Will the battery fit in the tray safely, and are the connections the same are the first two questions?

not sure yet, obviously if not i would think twice, but assuming they are the same, would it be ok?
i always thought there were really only 2 sizes of batteries for cars
the good one is large and i think the other is too
It should be ok but you need to supply the ages of the cars - sometimes the positive and negative terminals are on the 'wrong side' so the cables dont fit.

Either way your 1yr battery will have value on ebay if you take it off anyway.
No, there are different types....apart from things like physical size, terminals, capacity etc....

Done it lot of times but as The M says, the trays can be smaller / Connectors shorter, other than that, no probs, regards putting it on ebay with respect quoi, there too much bother Re/ Acid etc regards a courier ( safety)
As long as it fits safely and you can connect it correctly no problem. Both cars are about the same size so the batteries will likely be a similar size.
Also depends on what extra's / accessories the car that you intend to put the battery on, the more extra's / accessories ( electrical powered ) then the more powerful the battery needs to be. They are measured by how many amps per hour they put out.
